EKG Technician

This course will prepare the student to become an EKG Technician, which involves monitoring and recording electrical
impulses transmitted by the heart. Instruction includes hands-on labs and practice with EKG equipment.
Topics includes background information on the anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease processes,
medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contract, electrocardiography, and stress testing.
The student will have the opportunity to practice with EKG equipment and perform hands-on labs including
introduction to the function and proper use of the EKG machine and other clinical practices.
