Home Health Training Program

The HHA Training Program is designed to provide students with a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certificate the option to enroll in our 40-Hour HHA Training Program (HHP) to become a certified Home Health Aide (HHA). The California Department of Public Health will allow individuals who have successfully completed the 160-hour Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP) to enroll in a 40 Hour HHA Program if the school/provider has a “separate and consecutive” program.

HHAs generally work for agencies to assist older, sick, or disabled clients in their homes as deemed. The student will learn basic nutrition, safe patient transfer techniques, infection control, basic life support, and medical terminology. This course will prepare students for entry-level careers as well as certification. Program coursework includes:

  • Introduction of Aide and Agency Role
  • Interpretation of Medical and Social Needs of People Being Served
  • Personal Care Services
  • Nutrition
  • Cleaning and Care Task in the Home
